Does your dog have reactivity, aggression, generalized fearfulness, or separation anxiety? Then this is the program for them! Led by our phenomenal behavioral specialist Gavin Vavra, our behavioral modification program provides lasting results, lifetime support, and is unlike any other you will find in the area.
Each dog is an individual and we treat them as such, developing an individualized training plan that targets specific behaviors that your dog is exhibiting.
The first step is to set up a consultation, where Gavin will physically come to your home and see first-hand what is going on. At that consultation he will develop a plan for working with you specific dog. Depending on the severity of the behaviors, some dogs require Board & Trains and some do not. Some may require longer Board & Trains than others. Each program is tailored specifically to each individual dog's needs.
If you continue moving forward, the cost of the consultation is rolled into the final price of the program. The $100 consultation fee will only be due if no training program is purchased after the consultation.

Lifetime trainer access includes ongoing assessments for new behaviors that may arise, private in-home sessions, community training sessions, access to organized playgroups, and unlimited follow-up sessions during regular business hours.
Sessions will include training techniques for boundary building, correction principles, energy management, and self-calming habits. Community sessions will occur at public places such as parks, vet visits, or retail stores and may be performed solo or in a group setting with other TCD clients.
Lifetime Trainer Access is included with our Behavioral Modification Board & Train packages at a discounted rate when booked together.
Contact us to begin! You will be asked to fill out some paperwork that gives us the necessary info about you and your dog. We will discuss the basics about what we will do with while he/she is with us and answer any questions you may have.
Once we've received your paperwork we will set a start date based on our availability and will send your invoice. Payment plans are available for those who require them. Reservations are not secure until all paperwork is completed and the first payment is received. Since we only take a limited amount of students at a time, your desired start date may become unavailable if these things are not completed in a timely manner.
If completing a Board & Train, please bring enough food for them for their entire stay and any medications/supplements they have on a regular basis. You are welcome to bring beds, blankets, special toys, treats, etc. to decorate their sleeping space as well as long as your dog does not tear them up or destroy them.
Each day your dog will receive multiple training sessions, play time, and healthy dog and human socialization. We will periodically send photos to let you know how they are doing, and you will likely see them appear on our social media in reels and photos too!
Did you know that your dog will receive 10% off of regular boarding with TCD for life after completing a program with usl? We spend a ton of time building a bond with your dog and want to see them again in the future!
If in the future you are interested in refreshing their training or teaching some new skills with another obedience-based board and train, we offer our graduates 50% off of any future program!
We can work and make improvements with dogs of any age, however the younger they are the less opportunity they will have had to practice bad habits and get away with them. There is less for us to "un-do" before instilling new behaviors.
Please review the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) website for the most up-to-date recommended vaccination schedule.
For the safety of our staff, other guest dogs, and the dogs that live here on our property we require standard vaccination procedures. We are willing to accept legitimate titer results from a veterinarian that prove immunization in lieu of annual vaccines.
Nope! TCD does not require sterilization for any of our programs.
Absolutely, but you must make an appointment with us to do so. We host lots of events, care for other people's dogs, have private training clients, etc. throughout the day and we are not able to accommodate unexpected drop-ins. We would be happy to have you swing by but we need a heads up first.
We proudly follow the LIMA model of dog training, which stands for "Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive." While 90% of what we do is through positive reinforcement, we recognize that some behaviors that we as humans do not appreciate are self-reinforcing for a dog, so corrections to their behavior may be required. We will work to find the lowest level of correction required for the dog to stop pursuing that unwanted behavior and then immediately reward them for making better choices.
Your choice! You are welcome to come pick them up to take them, or if the appointment is local to us we would be happy to bring them as well! If doing the latter please let whatever service provider it is know that their trainer will be bringing them to their appointment and has permission to do so.
Nope! You are paying for the time that our trainers put into your dog while they are here, our experience, and our expertise. We document all of the work we do while your dog stays with us and will definitely be able to show you the difference in your dog with training and adjustments to their schedule, however it is 100% up to the client to follow our instructions and maintain the training once the dog returns home. If there is no intentional maintenance to the training once home again and the dog reverts back to their initial behaviors, that is not our responsibility to fix free-of-cost. Even with Lifetime Trainer Access there are specific training landmarks that must be met by the client before our trainers will continue to return to the home. We are here to help, but we can not do all of the work ourselves.
